Having been a Cub Scout in Pack 73, I joined Troop 7 of Pinehurst in
2000. Scouts for me proved one of the formative experiences of my upbringing. It allowed me to make
amazing friends, appreciate the
virtues of discipline and hard work, and sparked my lifelong of the
outdoors. I earned my Eagle Scout on 3/17/2003 after completing a project on behalf of the
Sandhills Children’s Center, a school for children with developmental disabilities. My project
consisted of designing and building a wooden structure with accompanying landscaping for housing
the center’s dumpsters in order to comply with a local ordinance.
Trip dates: 2/21/2016 – 8/16/2016. Highlights included the Grayson Highlands, the White Mountains
of New Hampshire (Mount Washington in particular), crossing the GA-NC border during a blizzard
(very memorable experience), and of course the final summit of Mount Katahdin in Maine.
Hope to pursue a PhD in Statistics to either become a professor or
start a financial consulting firm.
